i2a istituto internazionale di architettura inaugurates Wednesday 22 May 2013 at 8pm in Vico Morcote an exhibition entitled Footpaths for the city. A soft-mobility path for the Vedeggio. It will present the results of the work carried out by the young architects Silvia Sivo and Vincenzo Tuccillo during their three-month residence at i2a as part of the study program on infrastructure and contemporary urban landscape infrarealities directed by Jachen Könz, architect and urban planner, and Alessandro Martinelli, researcher in residence at i2a.
On this occasion, a round-table will be held with a number of architects and lecturers who have also taken part in the program, among which Gianandrea Barreca, Luca Belatti, Mariagiulia Bennicelli Pasqualis, Fabrizio Ciappina, Francesco Messina, Riccardo Miselli and Francesca Vargiu. It will be followed by a debate with the audience. The evening is open to all those interested.
During the course of the evening of 22 May, will also be presented the publication by Domus Academy and i2a Canton Ticino: territory of a new modernity. A perspective of densification after the urban sprawl that illustrates the results of the work carried-out in 2012 by the Domus Academy’s Master in Urban Vision and Architectural Design course during their residence in Vico Morcote.
Furthermore, from 19 to 26 May, will take place at i2a a workshop promoted by the Order of Architects of Messina, during which young designers will work with a panel of tutors on a further contribution to the infrarealities program.
